Nuno Felting How To

The design on this scarf was created with three complimentary colors. Tufts of the darkest color roving were layed down in a random pattern on the scarf. Then smaller tufts of the other two colors were placed on top of the darker tufts layered in the same direction. Then very fine tufts of roving in the same color as the scarf were placed inbetween the design. The scarf was felted in the traditional rolling method and fulled by rubbing while flat on the rolling mat.

Materials: Mocha Habotai Silk Scarf, ~ 0.40 ounces Merino Wool Roving (varying amounts of 4 colors: Ocean, Sea, Depths of the Sea, Mocha)

Finished size: ~ 16" x 67"
